Rest In Peace The Egyptians believed that you die twice. Once when you take your final breath, and then again the last time someone utters your name. They believed your spirit lived on as long as people remembered you. Our friend George will be remembered long after we have gone. A fighter for workers' rights against all forms of authoritarianism and oppression, and a true proactive friend of the Taxi trade, George didn't suffer fools gladly, especially those in power. If George could help someone, he would - that was his nature. He personally helped me on more than one occasion. George Vyse is, in my and most knowledgeable people's opinion, the most significant name in the history of this great trade. The passing of the inimitable Georgie Vyse marks the end of an era – a time when our trade was a brotherhood.
