Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has caused two million Ukrainians to flee their homes and seek refuge in neighbouring countries. Back in 1994 a new investor scheme was invented, to accommodate unregulated money laundering. That scheme was called the Golden Visa, where foreign nationals need only show they had a minimum of £2m to invest, and all the usual financial regulations were conveniently overlooked, for a fee of course.
